Acrylic backlit signs typically range from $900 to $5,000 AUD depending on size, type (panel vs individual letters vs edge-lit), thickness, and complexity. Small reception signs start from $500. Backlit panels are full branded boards with your logo and text printed or cut into a single acrylic sheet — LED modules behind illuminate the entire panel evenly. Backlit letters are individual acrylic letterforms, each with internal LED illumination — they mount separately with stand-off pins for a floating effect. Panels give a sleek modern look; letters give a more dimensional, premium feel.

Edge-lit signs use LED light that enters through the polished edge of a clear acrylic panel. Text and graphics are CNC-engraved or frosted into the acrylic surface — only the engraved areas glow when light passes through. The result is a thin, elegant sign with a floating, etched-glass appearance. Ideal for professional offices, law firms, and architectural interiors.

Not with cast acrylic. We use only cast (not extruded) acrylic which is UV-stable and won't yellow, crack, or degrade from sun exposure. Cast acrylic maintains its clarity and colour for 10+ years even in direct sunlight. This is critical for Perth's intense UV. Cheaper extruded acrylic can yellow within 2-3 years — we never use it.

The most common locations are: corporate reception areas and lobby walls, medical and dental clinic entrances, law firm and professional office foyers, hotel lobbies and conference rooms, retail feature walls, and restaurant/bar branding. They work best on dark or neutral wall colours where the glow creates maximum visual impact.

Three mounting options: (1) Flush mount — panel sits flat against the wall with LEDs behind, creating a uniform glow. (2) Stand-off pins — letters or panels float 15-25mm off the wall, creating a halo shadow effect. (3) Recessed — panel is set into the wall or a custom frame for a built-in look.
